About the product
This publication presents an overview of the machine-readable database named Global Review and Inventory of Population Policies: 1999 (GRIPP:1999), which is available on diskette. It provides population policy profiles, based on a subset of available policy variables, for each of the 193 countries. The book also contains statistical tables showing the frequency distribution of population policy variables. The variables considered include: Government's view on population growth; type of intervention by Government to modify growth; Government's view on fertility level; policy on contraceptive use; policy on immigration; and policy on emigration.
