About the product
This publication presents an overview of the machine-readable database named Global Review and Inventory of Population Policies: 1997 (GRIPP:1997), which is available on diskette. It provides population policy profiles, based on a subset of available policy variable, for each of the 179 countries. The book also contains statistical tables showing the frequencies of particular codes on various population policy variables. The variables considered include: Government's view on population growth; life expectancy; type of intervention by Government to modify fertility; limits to contraceptive access; policy on use of modern contraceptives; policy on internal migration; and policy on immigration.
