About the product
The present report is submitted by the Board following its fifty-third session, held from 13 to 21 July 2006 at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON). It: 1) provides an overview of the decisions taken by the Board at its fifty-third session; 2) provides a summary of the operations of the Fund for the biennium ended 31 December 2005; and 3) addresses issues on which action is required by the General Assembly, as well as matters on which the Board is obliged to report to the Assembly. The salient observations, conclusions and recommendations of the present report are highlighted in bold print. A draft resolution for the consideration of the General Assembly is contained in annex XXI.
