About the product

Compared to Asia and the Pacific with 70% and Latin America with 27%, estimated foreign direct investment (FDI) in Africa was less than 5% to developing countries in 1994. This report prepared by UNCTAD states that contrary to the common perception, FDI in Africa can be profitable. Firms wishing to benefit from the opportunities existing should consider African countries as investment locations. African governments are, however, encouraged to make every effort to maintain or restore economic and political stability as a precondition for increased FDI.
