About the product
For the food and drink industry, preserving the environment in which our raw materials are grown has always been a concern. During the last few years, many companies have decided to increase their efforts in favour of the protection of the environment. Particular attention has been devoted to packaging and environment, training has been reinforced and the industry has started to report about environmental issues. This report is the contribution of the food and drink industry to the United Nations World Summit on Sustainable Development. It shows that much has already been achieved and that in many cases the food and drink industry has been at the forefront of the development. It also identifies some of the remaining challenges and future goals.
