Intended to familiarize users with the information included in the UNCTAD Database on Trade Control Measures, the first part of this Directory briefly describes UNCTAD's monitoring of import regimes at the global and tariff-line levels. It also presents the UNCTAD Coding System of Trade Control Measures together with corresponding working definitions. The second part contains a summarized description of the import regime of individual countries and territories, which will be issued separately in the volumes to follow, as well as that of the European Union.
