The detection of radioactive materials at borders is the subject of this technical document. The major focus of this publication, jointly sponsored by the IAEA, World Customs Organization, INTERPOL and EUROPOL, is on radiation detection, in particular, the instrumentation necessary for such purposes. It is intended to assist member state organizations in effectively detecting radioactive materials crossing their borders, whether importations, exportations, or shipments in transit.
