The publication provides an overview and analysis of the present situation in Central Asia with regard to the safety of hydraulic structures such as dams. In addition to a list of all major dams in the region, the publication also includes: a model national law on safety of large hydraulic facilities, including dams, intended to be a base of national harmonized legal frameworks for dam safety, and a draft of the regional agreement on cooperation on dam safety.
