In an attempt to make comparisons of studies in the dynamics of criminal justice worldwide, this publication presents collected data on changes in recorded crime, criminal justice processes, resources available for criminal justice agencies and prevention strategies. However, each country has different laws, legal structures and resources and changes in the political, economic, social and administrative structures may present discrepancies in the reporting. This Survey suggests that the standardization of such statistics is not the answer but the recognition of their inevitable diversity.
