About the product
This report is based on the Hargeisa workshop, organized in Somalia by the International Organization for Migration in March 2001. The conference brought together a group of women primarily from Somalia but also from South Africa, Lebanon and the Democratic Republic of Congo to discuss the various ways of achieving sustainable and participatory peace planning in societies experiencing conflict. The Hargeisa workshop established a model that could be beneficial to other women, individuals, and groups within conflict, and in post-conflict societies. The report contains an overview of the workshop’s proceedings as well as the workshop’s presentations and briefing papers.
