The present issue of the Index covers national drug control laws and regulations which Governments have communicated to the Secretary-General during the period 2000 to 2004. The Index was designed both as a comprehensive reference to the various aspects of drug control laws and regulations and as a practical tool for use at both the national and international levels, as it provides a method for continuous mutual disclosures by parties of their legislative positions in relation to the control activities required under drug conventions.
