Changing Patterns of Employment and Unemployment in Africa

The research project, in the framework of which this study has been written, focuses on the Sub-Saharan African countries and looks at the different aspects of the unemployment problem. Among the key questions looked at is the direction of the structural changes in output and their implications for employment. The four countries which have been selected for more profound analysis in this study - Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania - are interesting examples of the similarities and diversities of trends, structures and problems.
