The Survey, the third in the series, was conducted between May and November 2005 in 15 sub-Saharan African countries. This year the study develops detailed profiles of the different types of foreign investors that operate in the region and looks at the variations in characteristics between as well as within the groups. The study also investigates the impact that different kinds of Foreign Direct Investment have on the host economies. The performance of investors is also assessed to identify the fast growing subgroups in terms of sales, investments and employment.
