About the product
The Bulletin provides detailed information on the population of the Western Asia region and its vital events: births, deaths, marriages and divorces. It presents this information in three parts: population; fertility and mortality; and marriage and divorce. In this issue, the Bulletin presents the main indicators for each vital event. These indicators have been computed using national data, weighted by population estimates from the 2008 Revision of the World Population Prospects, prepared by the UN. Major changes have been introduced to produce a completely revised Bulletin, in which both quality and relevance of disseminated data are enhanced. The objective is to provide a more effective tool for monitoring comparable data and indicators. This publication is in English and Arabic.
