About the product

In a number of states of East and Southeast Asia, democratization occurred or was consolidated in the early 1990s but irrespective of the level of democratization, economic performance has been a primary source of political legitimacy. Yet the levels of development vary markedly. This study focuses particularly on the condition of parties and party systems and economic governance. It also presents a discussion on economic development verses political democracy.
