In view of new developments in international merchandise trade, this timely publication presents recommendations on methodology for compiling international merchandise trade statistics. The recommendations also take into account national practices of data compilation, new international agreements regarding customs procedures, and previous methodologies of national accounting and balance of payments statistics.
