About the product

Recent times have witnessed a major breakthrough in the field of satellite technology. Miniaturization, through the use of high-technology mechanisms has significantly increased the performance-to-weight and volume rations of mission payloads, spacecraft, launch vehicle and ground segment sub-systems, thus increasing the potential to build operational small satellite systems. This publication examines whether small and comparatively inexpensive satellites have a role in the sustainable development of Asia and the Pacific. It explores the financial and technical reasons for the growing interest in small satellites and gives details of how this technology can be productively used.
