The Tisza River Basin (TRB) is located almost exactly in the geographical centre of Europe and crosses the new boundaries of the European Union. The Tisza is one of the most threatened European rivers. Accidental pollution from industrial sites and exceptional floods which affected TRB underscored the need to strength efforts to prevent further environmental and socio-economic damage to the entire region.
