About the product

This study examines the impact of import liberalization on Tariff-Rate Quotas (TRQ) in China’s cotton industry, and other selected agricultural products. It evaluates the impact on TRQ created as a result of China’s accession to the World Trade Organization. The study also conducts an assessment of the economic, social and environmental impact created by trade liberalization, and finally, proposes policy recommendations that would mitigate the negative impacts and enhance the positive impacts of this liberalization.
