About the product
This publication is based on the United Nations Environment Programme's (UNEP) study on ecofarming technology and methods used in China. The study concluded that the Chinese experience though based on local ecological conditions and agricultural knowledge could be adapted to other countries wishing to improve agricultural production and increase fodder, fuelwood and food production. The following subjects are covered in the study: development of ecofarming in China; development of ecological agriculture in arid and semi-arid regions; establishing ecological agriculture on wetlands; rural compound farming; integrated fish-culture in ecofarming; ecological animal husbandry; agroforestry in ecofarming; ecofarming and rural energy; and designing ecofarming programmes.
