About the product

This publication is largely based on the reports of country studies undertaken in Bangladesh, The Lao People's Democratic Republic, Myanmar, Nepal and on papers on experience in renewable energy development in selected developing countries in Asia. It is an in-depth analysis of the resource and technological base of the participating countries to identify the potential and constraints in the commercialization of the most appropriate renewable energy technologies. Local infrastructure in the utilization of renewable technologies and linkages of renewable industry to other rural development activities were also examined. The main objective is to promote inter-country cooperation in the commercialization of renewable energy technologies through market development and enhanced research, development and demonstration of appropriate technologies.
